Aspect Driver Training

Description of Services:

The DSA B+E Test

Using our one-to-one form of tuition, or 2 students together. The two day towing course includes the B+E Test on the afternoon of the second day. We rarely, if ever, take more than 2 students on a course at any one time.

The two training days are run with a break of either 3-7days or back to back, to allow students time to practice the exercises they learnt on the first day, in readiness for the second day of training. We have found that this method of training can make the difference between those who pass first time, and those who fail. If there is a time limit for students to qualify, they may opt for \'back to back\' training.

We cover all aspects of the B+E Test, these include:-

1. Driving on the public highway, including dual carriageways and motorways where available.
2. Trailer reversing
3. Uncoupling and recouping
4. The braking exercise

On Road - We will bring you back up to Driving Test standard and encourage you to lose all the bad habits you may have accumulated; such as one-handed steering and resting a hand on the gear stick. The on road training will cover trailer-handling, observations, road positioning, planning and awareness, signalling, use of controls, mirrors, and speed.

Off Road - During training, we will take you to the off-road area where we will run through the exercises and assist you in becoming confident and competent. We will cover:-

Reversing - accuracy, control, and all-round observation for a snake reverse into a bay park.

Braking - controlled stop at 20mph through coned area.

Uncoupling and Recouping - release trailer from vehicle, move forward and park alongside, before re-attaching trailer as a new and unfamiliar trailer. Accuracy, control and safety being of prime importance.

In fact, we provide you with everything you will need to accomplish your qualification.

* Coverage of the on road and off road syllabus for the Test.
* The everyday use of trailers and trailer awareness.
* Williams Box Trailer.
* We provide you with insurance throughout training and during the Test.
* We provide all the fuel you will use during training, and also on the Test.
* We book the B+E Test on your behalf, the current cost of the Test is £115.
* After the first day\'s training, students are given an information booklet designed to help them .

Why bother with the B+E test

If you have been towing large trailers, caravans, boats or horse-boxes, and you do NOT have the correct entitlement (Category B+E) on your licence, you are running the risk of 9 points on your licence, and a fine.

3 points for \'no category\'.
6 points for \'no insurance\'. There could also be a fine of £400+.

Towing assessments

We offer a specialised service to view and if necessary amend your current risk assessments for those drivers that Tow a Trailer, caravan, horse box or boat in the course of their daily activities . In the current climate companies need to go further than train just one or two\' drivers. A suitable policy needs to be in place covering all potential eventualities and ensuring employees have regular reviews and updates.

Written assessments are provided both from the training session and full written reports will follow indicating any future training recommendations. Our training packages will fully satisfy the need to \'take reasonable steps\' to ensure the safety of your workforce and any others who may be put at risk by your work related activities.

Any member of your staff who drives as part of their work must be covered by these risk assessments. The secretary who nips out to get a stamp is driving for work, it doesn\'t have to be the company representative!

The ideal training ratio is two delegates to one instructor. Clients can provide a suitable vehicle and trailer for the towing course which is recommended .

This one-day driver training course can be held at any location in the UK
